This weekend we got into the fall spirit and went to the Hunsader Farm's Pumpkin Festival. You know how Gilligan's three hour tour turned bad? We had a similar experience. We didn't get stranded, but we definitely took the LONG way getting to the farm (apparently it was far enough in Timbuktu that the GPS navigator Rob had couldn't find it).
Once we got there we remembered from a couple of years ago that it was pretty much a rip off (pay four bucks to park in muddy field, then pay seven bucks a head to go in and look at a bunch of booths where you can spend more money). But, after our extra long trip out there we were determined to have a good time. So, we walked around the booths (I found a really neat painted gourd that looks like a giraffe for Eleanore's room) and ate a funnel cake.
On the way back to Rob and Catherine's house we stopped at the Amish market and got pumpkins and other fresh produce. Back at the house we carved pumpkins and ate spaghetti squash (my first time eating it -- I don't know why I've never had it before -- delicious!). All in all, it was a fun, fall-like day (in the Fla. heat!). It was low key, really, if we hadn't taken the long way it may have been so uneventful that it wouldn't have deserved a blog entry.

Man, I feel like we are the only lamos that haven't carved pumpkins and I love doing it. We need after pictures of your masterpieces!! Sorry it was kind of a lame trip!
Sounds like a fun uneventful day. I love the picture of Eleanore getting into your cupboard, cute!
Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. We went to a pumpkin patch Saturday, but it was so windy by the time we got there we grabbed the first ones we saw and left. Idaho, you gotta love it. Have a fun Halloween!
Eleanore is looking more and more like you. And you look great carving pumpkins. I love all the fall stuff, and spaghetti squash is my favorite fall food of all time. Looks like some fun times.
Great pictures for this time of year! We can relate with the weather too. Its been about 84 degrees and the only thing that convinces me that it is fall is the change of color on the leaves!
Happy fall!
Awww...I love Halloween times! They don't celebrate it too much here in France yet, but it's catching on! My favorite part of Halloween is pumpkin carving...I roast the seeds every year! I'm actually pretty jealous, I couldn't find a single pumpkin to buy around here. :(
Oh well, maybe next year! Love reading your blog, Emily! Keep it up! :D
Lots of love from France.
New post please, I miss the Buckley Fam and need to know what is new!
