Home sweet home

The Buckley Family officially has new digs! During October we moved across town to a place with more space for our upcoming additions. It was a lot of work (and we are SO, SO grateful for the all the help we got from our friends and from Rob and Catherine...Catherine cleaned (and I mean deep-cleaned) the downstairs bathrooms for us...it was a job no one would want to do and she deserves a medal for doing. THANK YOU!!!).

The house is awesome (more storage space, more room to play, more bedrooms, more bathrooms, etc), but needed a lot of deep cleaning when we arrived. Now that we've got it, cleaned, mostly organized (still have my office and bedroom closet to go) and a little decorated it is starting to feel like home. The guy we are renting from is real nice and worked with us on price because he wanted to see a family in the home. We are grateful to have found it.

We officially checked out of the "old house" yesterday. It was a little bittersweet. We had lived there longer than we had any other place since we got married and it is where we brought our first baby "home." We have lots of precious memories in those walls, so we were sad to leave, but also excited to move into something more accommodating. When we were there doing all the cleaning Eleanore kept asking me where all our stuff was. It was cute, and little sad.

Here are some pics of the new place.

Stairs (For some reason it is fun to have stairs again, but Eleanore is very attracted to them which makes me nervous. She can climb them fine, but I just get worried that she'll lose her balance.) The master bedroom and bath are all that are upstairs. I didn't take a pic of that because that is the area that still needs to be put together.

Playroom

View from back door. The lake has turtles, fish and ducks that Eleanore and I have been enjoying feeding bread to in the mornings.

Back lanai (nice to have an area where Els can play "outside" and be locked in (since we have that lake she can never be outside alone at all). There is a it of shade above the lanai so the heat is a bit more bearable in there too.

Theater room (Bryan's selling point when I told him about the place). The owners left the couches and TV for us to use. :)

With more space we've got room for company. Consider this an open invite!

Agreed- your place is amazing. Love that backyard. So fun to have a playroom, a lake with ducks, and that little outdoor area... sounds like kiddie paradise (and parent paradise with the home theatre!). ENJOY!

Love your new house! I'm glad you were able to find one with some room for you to grow. I'm impressed with how put together it all is, it always takes me forever to get my home organized... who am I kidding, we've been here for 3 years and it's still a mess! ;)
One thing I would ask is that (if you haven't done already) is get those little door alarms that will sound if your patio doors are opened so that you know if little El goes outside by herself. Even if you lock doors, trust me she will figure out how to unlock them.
So happy you found a nice little 'retreat' for your family.

WOW! I just love your new house. It feels so spacious from the pictures! I really like that patio that is enclosed. And the theatre room, wahoo! I'll let Ryan know we will be planning a future vacation to Venice!
