Just before Christmas we had Jarom and his parents Anna and Jarom over for a playdate/hot dog roast and I think both kids had lots of fun. We need to do this more often.

Buddies
There is only one other child Eleanore's age in our ward; his name is Jarom McKinney. Eleanore and Jarom enjoy playing together. Mostly he laughs at her and she hams it up for him...it is cute to watch.

There's nothing like having a play buddy that understands his friend - they enjoy each other because they're in about the same stage in life. (I hope that made sense).
We've run into the same problem of not having a lot of kids Gabe's age. When we get him with kids that are a little younger than him, they tend to annoy him, because they are too touchy and Gabe doesn't like that. But when we get him with kids his age and older he LOVES their companionship!
So yay for a new friend and hope you guys can get together often!
