Anyway my girls are growing, growing, growing and I love them so much. Here is the "Six-Month Update" on the twinners:
Ivy (the big sister by two minutes):
Weight = 14 lbs (30th percentile)
Height = 25 inches (25th percentile)
Head = 17 inch (70th percentile)
Doctor's summary: "Ivy is healthy and beautiful!" -- I agree.
Ivy is the most spastic, excited, funny baby I've had.
She holds her legs flexed straight out and likes to stand on my lap.
She is amazed by her own little fingers and will sit and stare at them for quite some time.
She rolls both directions.
She can sit independently for 30 seconds or so and then gets excited and tips herself over.
She laughs/giggles out loud and still coos very sweetly.
She is a very distracted nurser and only will nurse long enough to satisfy her hunger, does not eat for comfort in the day (the night is another story).
She has a long tongue, which she likes to slop up her solid food with like a little kitty cat.
She is a sweet little snuggler.
She doesn't like being alone and gets upset when Mama leaves her sight and seems to beg with her eyes for me to hold her.
She sings herself to sleep while being rocked and really fights sleeping; it seems she doesn't want to miss a thing.
She loves bath time and goes wild splashing with all four limbs for as long as you keep her in there, without minding the water splashing in her face at all.
Is enamored by Eleanore. It seems she is taking mental notes of everything Eleanore does and is just waiting for her body allow her to do it all too.
Her nicknames are Ivy Ivster and Rooskie.
Maya (the little sister by two minutes):
Height = 27 1/4 inches (90th percentile)
Head = 17 1/4 inch (80th percentile)
Doctor's summary: "Maya is healthy and beautiful!" -- I agree.
Maya is a relaxed baby, but she does get upset when she wants to.
She holds her legs in the fetal position and likes to suck her own toes...or Ivy's toes (and Ivy doesn't seem to care a bit)...or anything else she can get her hands on.
She rolls both directions and scoots backwards.
She can almost sit independently, but leans really far forward.
She squeals more than laughs.
She grabs our faces and slobbers us with what we like to think are kisses.
She is a focused nurser and will nurse as long as I let her.
She has a short tongue.
She is a sweet little snuggler, but likes to be face out.
She will play independently for a limited amount of time and seems to be content as long as she can see us nearby.
When she is tired she will fall asleep just as quick as you snuggle her in your arms...she seems to enjoy napping.
She loves bath time, and likes to lay back and relax in the tub.
Loves to play games like Yankee Doodle and Here Comes the Duke of York on Mama's lap.
Her nicknames are Maya Mooskie and Mighty Maya.
Although twins, these two are very different babies with individual personalities and needs. They've added so much joy to our home and I am so happy they are a part of our family.

They sound like such sweethearts! Love to hear how they are doing and what they are up to. Such cute little girls you have, and I too think the time has gone fast...I get sad over my kids growing up too. I think of the future and am happy for them to be able to grow, learn, and experience life, but I am sad to have the baby in them gone. Parenting is definitely bittersweet.
You are so descriptive, and its amazing how different they are. This was a good update, its so good to hear how well they are doing. I can't believe that 6 months has flown by already! I totally understand the missing them already for when they are gone. I think about that too, so you are not weird, I get it!
It is amazing how different they are. Do you think it helps having two different personalities? I would think it would make them their own people. You often hear that opposites attract, maybe it will help enhance their relationship throughout the years.
