A trip to the farm

Monday night we spent Family Home Evening with the Gilliams -- a family from our ward. They have a small ranch here in Venice. It is pretty neat because it is only about five miles or so away, but you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere.

They were nice enough to feed us, teach us and entertain us with a tour of their farm and demonstration of their horses (Brother Gilliam is a horse trainer).

They offered Eleanore a ride on a horse, and she was looking forward to it all day, but once it came down to it she wasn't quite brave enough. Maybe next time. For now she was just as interested watching Brother Gilliam care for the horses. They have an 8-year-old girl, Rosie, who was real nice to El. They played with dress up make-up and painted nails before going outside and ran around the farm together outside.

It was a really fun, memorable night.

Sounds like it was a fun night. I love the picture of Eleanore hanging on the gate.
And YAY for Ivy for getting a tooth! I always love the first teeth smiles.

What a great idea! I am sure El will warm up to horse riding in no time. I loved reading the updates on the twins too. I still can't believe they are 6 months old, getting teeth and rolling around. So adorable! I love all the baby dolls in the house too, I am sure you will have more than you know what to do with with 3 girls. I'm sorry Bryan has been so busy lately. Wish we could just hang out while the hubbys away! It can be hard, I hope things slow down for him soon.

Sounds like a very fun night, you do have some nice people in your ward that really seem to take care of you guys. Though I know you do a lot of taking care of them too.

Cute pic w/Bryan & Scott. Scott could fill up his resume with all kinds of baby experience now--are you making him change some diapers? That's all that's left to becoming a real manny!!
