Tender Mercy

Just after my Grandma's funeral service, when we were exiting the chapel to go to the cemetery, my sister-in-law, Nancy, pointed out something she had noticed forming in the sky: a heart. Then, the one heart became three. Maybe it was a coincidence, but I like to think of it as a tender mercy. The feeling during the funeral service was such a peaceful, joyful one -- truly a celebration of Grandma's well-lived life, and this heart in the sky seemed to be a message from Grandma, sending her love to us. The other two hearts seemed to be telling us that Grandpa and Mom were also present. This message from above brought lots of smiles as we made our way to the graveside service.

I am so happy we were able to travel to Las Vegas to honor Grandma. It was special to be with all of my brothers and sisters and to spend time with my Uncle Jim and Great Aunt Millie.

Em, I just posted on Nancys and said that I don't believe in coincidende, that everything happens for a reason. She didn't mention that there were 3 hearts! Now I'm more sure than ever that it wasn't good timing like she said. Definitely granpa, and mom with her!

That's great. Where would we be without knowledge of the Plan of Salvation? It brings such peace.

Tender Mercies are such also a great blessing and testimony builder for us. Thanks for sharing.

Emily,
I really enjoy how you write from he heart! I am so glad that we all were able to see these hearts in the sky...I totally forgot there was more than one!
p.s. I wanted to reply from the comment you made on my blog.
Keep doing what you are doing with Eleanore's sleeping routine...there will come a time that she will no longer want to be rocked, and that time will come quicker than you think!
Don't have regrets, just do what your heart desires!
