A new kind of camping...

Since moving to FL we've only been camping once. It just isn't the same without the mountains, a gator-free lake, trout fishing, cool-crisp air and Bryan's parents' yummy camp cooking.

However, recently Eleanore is delighted by tents (thanks to her cool cousins Audrey, Jordan and Jake who have two play tents that she got to play in, and I think eat Cheetos in, at their house). Now nearly every day she asks for a tent.
On Sunday Bryan obliged her and made a tent out of blankets. We gave her some cheese and read stories inside. Now Eleanore thinks that cheese has to be eaten inside a tent. I offered her some on Monday and she insisted on eating it in a tent -- so we made one and played inside. That night Bryan made another tent for her and that is where we ate our dinner. It is classically fun, cheap entertainment so I can't complain, but why do I keep bothering to put all the blankets away???

SO cute! We were doing this too... then we just actually bought a tent (for about 20 bucks) and I started to wonder why I ever messed with the blankets in the first place :). It's been setup in our basement for the last 6 months... so it's good to know that my kids will have the novelty of it renewed (although it really hasn't worn off much- tents are so fun- right now, however, it is Sydney's "garage" not a tent... so be careful of that one) when El arrives!

That's funny that she remembers it so well & requests it each time. This is like one of those games that's fun the 1st & maybe a few more times--soon it's like your trapped yourself into your own punishment because you wanted to be a fun mom! But that's all good, right? Cheese in a tent does sound tastier.

How adorable! This is just the beginning of what El is going to be requesting because she certainly is remembering the fun she is having when she plays! You're great to keep it up,like you said it's free entertainment and those are the times they will remember as they get older.

How fun! I am the same way, I put everything away only to have to pull it out again the next day. She looks like she has changed just within the last month, she's such a cutie!

How fun, I totally understand about putting the blankets away, it must help us sleep better or something.

And so it starts.... Levi is the fort pro at our house, and I know everytime I cant find a spare blanket or my own pillow, it is part of the fort in the basement! How fun, it is so fun to have older kids who can enjoy stuff like this!! She is super cute, can't wait to see her.

I have fond memories of the tents I built with my siblings. We always built ours around the dining table. Bet mom loved that!

We love Eleanore and have lots of fun when she comes to play. She always amazes me with what she can remember. You have a really cute and smart girl!

Haha that is so funny. Quite the impressive tent for adults to fit in too! What a cutie El is.
