Halloween Part 1

Our Halloween celebration started last Thursday when Bryan was away for a work conference. His brother who works for the same company was also away, so my sister-in-law and I decided to take the kids to a trick or treat event at the Mote Marine aquarium in Sarasota. It was not a good idea -- way to crowded and not much trick or treating...pretty much a big marketing event. Oh well...the kids had fun seeing each other. All of Catherine's crew dressed as pirates and Eleanore's official Halloween costume hadn't arrived yet so I dressed her up in a princess hand-me-down dress up we have for the evening.

After the Mote Audrey came home with Eleanore and I and spent the night as part of her birthday celebration. We had fun playing and watching a movie. The next morning Bryan and Rob were back so we all went on a train ride to a pumpkin patch in Parrish. It was my first time on a real train, and although it moved slowly it was fun.

At the patch the kids got to pick their own pumpkins and go on a short hayride.

After the train we went back to Rob and Catherine's for Audrey's 10th birthday party, which included a yummy dinner, balloon popping for treats, decorating pumpkins (with Mr. Potato Head kits...the best idea ever for young kids, I think) and cake and ice cream. It was a really fun evening.

We love beautiful Audrey and are so happy she is part of our family!

I love those potato-head pumpkins! I looked and looked and couldn't find them here... so we settled for some other type of pumpkin push-ins... but they were creepy looking- I like the potato-heads. Great idea. Super fun to ride a TRAIN! Love it all.

We had a similar experience at he Children's Museum here a couple of years ago. Was not worth going, but I'm glad you had cousins to play with. The train ride sounds fun!
