I remember sitting up late at night when I was in junior high and high school waiting for my older siblings to come home from college for the holiday and even one year I remember opening a few presents that were already wrapped and under the tree because my curiosity got the best of me.
This year we put up our tree the Sunday before Thanksgiving...I just couldn't wait any longer for the holiday to start and I am lucky that Bryan is as much of a softy as I am. We put up the tree while Eleanore was down for a nap and excitedly waited for her to wake up so we could see her reaction....which was adorable. She put her hand over her mouth and giggled out loud. Then we spent a couple of hours decorating the tree and putting out the nativity. It was a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon and another great Christmas memory for me to add to the bank.

Love it ALL. El is adorable placing the star... so sweet with her daddy. Merry Christmas Buckley fam! Fun to hear your memories.
cute memory, cute tree, cute elenore!
It's so fun to see how the simplest things can get kids so excited, I love this age.
I just had to laugh at the comment about peeking at the presents! It totally brought back memories :)
I love it when you post. You are such a great writer. I think it is great you decorated early. It looks so good and your house looks awesome. I hope we can visit soon?!? You Thanksgiving looked like quite the party. You guys really know how to live it up together. Nice that you now have a paddle boat!! I can't believe how close you are to the big day.
Love Eleanore's reaction to the tree. She is at a fun age
So sweet, I can totally picture El's reaction! Love the pic with her daddy too!
El is such a lucky girl to have you both as her parents!
I know I'm such a blog stalker, so this time I'm leaving a comment. Your tree looks fantastic (I remember it from last year). I was just thinking of our Christmas Eves past (subversive cheese and crackers at midnight, anyone?) and wishing you could be nearer. I miss you oodles!
