I love my family. I am glad to be the mama of three beautiful little girls and I am proud to be wife of a great man. Bryan was recently promoted to a management position at work. I think the most impressive part of the promotion is that he didn't apply or express interest in the position, rather they approached him. I think that says a lot about the work he has done over the last two and a half years. I am proud of him and appreciate all he does to provide for our family. The down side of the promotion is that he has to travel more frequently for conferences. The travel began this week as he has been away to San Diego since last Saturday.

...and these girls!
The thought of him leaving me alone was very nerve-wracking; I was very nervous about handling the nights without him. Luckily Shay and her kids came to help me for the first half of the week, which was fun for Eleanore to play with her cousins and the extra hands were nice for managing the babies when they both wanted to be held. They went home on Tuesday night. Since then things really have been going well...but I would be lying if I didn't say I am excited for Bry to get home tomorrow.
On Monday, I took Ivy and Maya for their two-month check up. They are growing and healthy! As a nursing mother, I take a bit of personal pride in seeing the weights advance. I guess it is just a great feeling to know that I can sustain their lives. Lots people didn't think nursing twins would be the best idea. It isn't easy, but I am glad I am doing it for my babies.
Funny pic of these two (Ivy left, Maya right).

Pretty Maya (above)
Eleanore seems to be growing and maturing every day. I love her so much! She has a beautiful, contagious smile and is fun to chat with. She surprises me with the funny, smart things she says and seems to understand the meaning of kindness and friendship. I am so glad she is my daughter -- I can't imagine life without her.
This week I've heard about two people who are close to friends of ours that have lost a child -- one at birth and another in a car accident (17-year-old boy). As I've heard about each of the experiences I have been in awe at the parents of each of the children and the faith and testimonies they have demonstrated. I am also reminded of how blessed we are to have three healthy babies and that life is short, so we should be patient and try to enjoy each day.
Here's to my great family, that I am sure I don't deserve, but am so blessed to have.

Emily,
This was one of my favorite post yet! The girls are changing so much and they are just so sweet and darling! As I was looking at your pics I kept "awing" as I'd look at the pics of girls...they are beautiful!!!
Your post was sincere and touching. What a blessing it is to have the experience of raising children. There is so much to learn everyday, and you are approaching it the right way.
CONGRATS to Bryan! What a compliment that he was approached and offered the position!
I can totally relate with not being too excited when he has to leave for conferences. Maybe you'd could go with him from time to time.
You guys are such a beautiful family and love you all. Thanks for sharing this post with us.
Emily
Thanks for the great blog, and yes you deserve the wonderful family you have, because you are such a loving kind person yourself. We feel like we are there with the photo's and the blog. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, give the girls a kiss and hug for us. Love Mom and Dad Buckley
WOW, what a great post. Again, as always, am totally amazed by the person that you are... I wonder how it is that we are sisters? Those girls are all so pretty and GROWING. Thank goodness for blogs- how would we ever realize how things change. Both your little gals and Sicily- can't believe it (I need a close-up of Sicily... hint to Shay when she reads this). I think I can safely say that their is a clear "Buckley" look. Love those little ruffle pants- so stinkin' cute. Love the new pics on the sidebar- esp. the one of the two together- sleeping, if I remember right? That caputres the magic of twins right there. Lucky gals to have each other!... and all 3 lucky to have you!
PS- Way to go Bryan!!! Good luck!
Well, I'd say that if you're blogging, you're getting along pretty darn good on your own!! See, you DO underestimate yourself. I don't find time, or maybe just the leftover interest to get on the computer much anymore if there is free time (i.e. time when no one is screaming & midnight hasn't struck yet).
I thought you were doing an excellent job not only managing, but mothering your 3 little girlies. I hope one day I can tell them all about how I watched you plan your every move in ways that would allow you to hold them longer or give them each a turn so no one would get less than you felt was deserved. You are doing a great job & the guilt is just part of it, twins or not...so don't let that get you down!!!
We had so much fun with you gals. I wish we were a tad closer so we could do visits without feeling like we're overtaking your home. The kids keep saying they miss Eleanore, and then they correct themselves to say we miss all those Buckleys...all those GIRLS. They have told their school teachers about you, the neighbors, & love to announce that there are " two twins". For 3 consecutive mornings Shepard has come to tears as he tells me he misses Ivy, Maya,& Eleanore (names them each) & reminds me (for like the 100th time) he didn't even get to say goodbye.
Thanks for putting up with us....we needed it & enjoyed being with our family too.
The pictures of you and your girls with Shays family are great. It looks like so much fun with all the little ones.
The girls in their little dresses are adorable. Love it!
Emily you are a fantastic mother and very deserving of your family. They are lucky to call you "mother" and "wife". You are truly amazing, caring, and thoughtful of everyones needs.
So glad that your sister was able to come and help you out. I'm glad that you have had a good week. I've been thinking about you this week and wondering how it was going.
Love all the new pictures of the girls. Eleanore is ADORABLE! Can't wait to see her again. And Maya and Ivy are getting so big! Even though they are still tiny, they have changed and grown so much. Thanks for the new pictures.
xoxo
You are a great mom! I love the pic of Maya with her bum in the air. Seriously your girls are sooo cute.
Very sweet I love looking at the pictures of the twins and finding differences. That's so great they are growing and I am proud of you for nursing them both. I can't imagine the strain that is on you but what an accomplishemnt. I hope that all is well now that Bryan is back safe and sound. When is his next trip?
That was fun to read. Isn't it such a blessing that we have families to make it through this life. I don't know what I'd do without them. I loved the pics. You have a beautiful family. It was fun talking to you the other day. You sounded great! Thanks for taking time out of your busy day.
Way to go Bryan! You know since your promotion you dont hang out with the cubicle crowd much anymore. Just remember those that got you there when raises come ready to hand out.
