The last two weeks have been full of the yuckies. Just when I was getting over my cold Eleanore came down with what I thought was some kind of flu (which she tested negative for). Doesn't matter what the test said though, she was sick beginning last Sunday night (that's what we get for going to church). Which meant a week of long sleepless nights, 4 days of 104-degree fever, lots of tepid baths, diarrhea, a sore naked bum that we eventually planted undiapered on a towel in front of Mickey Mouse and Goofy cartoons because we felt so bad for her when she cried "bum bum hurts" and congestion in the chest and nose that continues tonight. Bryan and I came down with the same symptoms, so we were quite the threesome for a few days.
Thanks to our great brother-in-law Dr. Marx for satisfying this first-time mom's uneasiness and giving us good advice over the phone. Really, I actually feel guilty calling and asking Jared for medical advice, but it isn't just to save money by avoiding going to our own doctor. We trust him and know he is smart and thorough, and at least we believe he has some vested interest in our daughter since she is his niece. Seriously, he is good. Last year when I needed my gallbladder out immediately the doctor here didn't even check it, and he figured the problem out over the phone. A literal lifesaver. Thanks for the free medical advice, if you ever need a press release, resume or ad written, I'm your gal!
Now that we are on the upswing it has been a busy week of catching up on lots of work for Bryan and I, sanitizing the house, starting to pack a house full of so much stuff that I haven't seen or used since the last time I put it into boxes three years ago.
Less than exciting news, not even sure it was worth writing down for our posterity to read...but it is what we've been doing.
Looking forward, what's exciting? I'm going to learn to can next week. Catherine and I ordered a pressure canner and Crystal Williams is going to teach us the tricks of the trade. I think we'll start with apples and peaches next week! Also, although packing stinks, we are so excited to move to our new house...photos to come! Don't know when we're moving yet, but hopefully in the next couple of weeks.

Bummer!!! That is no fun and scary to have that high of a temp for so long. That's great you are feeling better.

I love canning! Learned in in my Idaho days. Sorry your little one is sick!
Yeah! No more sickness! Sorry to hear about that, though. I didn't know you bought a house so that's super exciting! It's great to hear what's going on with you!
