Vacation Part 4: Park City and Nana and Grandpa in Heber City

Friday morning Brandi and I loaded up the kids and headed to Park City to do some shopping. This was short lived as none of the kids were having it. She headed back to Provo and I went to meet Rob and Catherine at a hotel in Park City where we were going to stay the night. It was at the Canyons Resort and had an amazing swimming pool area that the kids loved playing in. We same both Friday night and Saturday morning. Friday night we also went into downtown  Park City and had pizza for dinner and then went back to the hotel where the Rob and Catherine took their kids and Eleanore down to roast s'mores while I put the babies to bed.

Saturday morning after swimming we made another attempt at the shopping outlets, but the kids still weren't having it. So we headed back the Canyons where we rode the gondola up the mountain and at a a restaurant. The ride was beautiful and the kids were absolutely amazing. All three of them kept shouting "WOW!!!" all the way up. It was very cute.

Before eating at the top we went on a little nature walk, which was really fun to be out in the woods. The restaurant had a fantastic atmosphere, but that was about it. SLOW SERVICE. The photo of Maya below cracks me up because her face tells the whole story about how we all felt about our time there.

After lunch we rode the gondola back down and headed to Heber City to meet Nana and Grandpa Buckley at their mission. They are service at the Heber City Girls Camp for the LDS Church. It is completely wonderful. The grounds are beautiful, the missionaries are all very kind and the Spirit was so strong. I am so happy we had the opportunity to see where they are serving. It makes sense why they sound so happy every time we talk to them.

It was also super fun to get to enjoy all the perks available at the Camp. Friday evening we we arrived Eleanore and I got to try the zip line (El just got to go for a swing ride without climbing all the way up). We only had about an hour that night before I had to go and pick up Bryan at the airport (YAY!). After I took off, Eleanore stayed at the Camp with Rob's family and Nana and Grandpa for dinner and more s'mores.

Even Grandpa took a turn on the zip line! It was cute to hear all the kids cheering him on, "Go Grandpa go!"

Sunday morning is back again to SLC to see Chris and Eve's sweet little baby Ramona Louise be blessed. We miss so many family milestones we were happy to be able to be a part of this one.

After the blessing we headed back to Heber City to spend the day with the Buckleys.
Maya enjoying a big Beto's burrito.

Eleanore and Jordan ready for the hike wearing Grandpa's hats..
We went on a hike, which was fun but a little hot, and got to try some of the low impact obstacle courses along the way.
Tyler, Jacob and Eleanore finding sticks.

Tyler and Maya
Bryan provided the comic relief at the Tarzan obstacle course....and then all the kids wanted a turn.

We did some team building exercises.

I think Bryan enjoyed "supporting" his brother on this one. ;)

Balancing on the beam.

Maya too!
Jacob and Eleanore had fun playing in the dirt.
We enjoyed just hanging out and visiting before we had a yummy BBQ for dinner.
That night we went over to Park City to watch the fireworks. The show was short, but it was still neat. What would the Fourth be without laying out on blankets watching fireworks and eating treats?

Monday morning we went back to the Girls Camp to participate in a few more challenge courses.
Another zip line, this time with a rope ladder.

Audrey went first, and set the bar high....then we all had to go off the platform backwards, with our arms out and squawking like a bird. It was fun!

We got to go to the lake a use the canoes and paddle boats.

Ivy hated her life jacket so she hung out on the shore with Nana.

Robyn, Bryan, Rob and Bob
The last challenge course was a huge swing, where you they hoisted you up as high as you wanted and you just let go when you thought it was high enough. Then you flew. Eleanore had gotten pretty courageous by this time and blew us all away when she went all the way to the top!

Silly little monkeys, wearing mama out!

Love this photo of El!

I tried it too, and it was great!
After the swing we headed back to Heber City, got an ice cream and it was time to say another good-bye. We had a wonderful time with Bryan's family. I sure love them so much and am grateful for the grandparents they are to our girls who absolutely adore them. The last afternoon the girls were finally warming up when it was time to go. They wouldn't stop giving Grandpa loves. It made me sad to go and wish more than ever that we lived closer. Someday.

This was the view we saw as we drove down the mountain.

What EXCITING memories! WOW, what fun to try out new things, even El looked as though she had done it before! So glad you were able to see Bryan's parents while on their mission!
