Valentines Day at Boca Grande

Okay this is really delayed, but I want to post these photos from Valentines Day. It was a VERY low-key holiday this year. We spent the morning just hanging out.

In the afternoon we went to Boca Grande (a barrier island about 45 minutes from our home) with Rob and his family to check out a lighthouse and go out to dinner. First we went to the beach and looked for seashells...this is very shelly beach, then we walked over to the lighthouse. It wasn't really what I expected, but was fun to see. I couldn't help but think of my Dad. He loved lighthouses and would've loved to have seen the photos we took there.

By the time we finished at the lighthouse (there was a little museum inside that displayed the history of the island) and got to a restaurant it was about 4:15 p.m. and we found that most of the island shuts down at 4 p.m. So, we got some ice cream and then picked up some pizza and went back home to eat it. Not the most "romantic" Valentines we've ever had, but it was really fun to see something new (that is so close to our home) and just relax!

Sounds like you had a nice day. I'm amazed that you guys can push a stroller in the sand. Must be a good workout! :)
